St. George Orthodox Church of Orlando, FL the Church from the Impossible
Sunday School

Parents, Grandparents, God-parents, aunts, uncles and all those truly concerned with the spiritual education of our youth; it is so very, very important to encourage and bring the children to Church on Sundays to participate in the Divine Liturgy and attend Sunday School classes. The Lord says in the Holy Scripture: "My people are perishing for a lack of knowledge;" and our children who are not knowing of the Lord and His Holy Orthodox Church are 'sinking' in a sea of materialism and the host of problems that a life devoid of God brings to people. We have wonderful and dedicated teachers, excellent materials and a good program to teach the children about the Lord. Please do not wait for them to get hurt from the world, arm them with the sword of the Lord's love to protect and keep them in His Love and Grace.

Sunday School classes are held following Holy Communion in the Sunday School rooms on the third floor of the Church and conclude after dismissal following the Divine Liturgy. GOD BLESS!

The children are now working on their Parish Life Conference projects in Writing, Art, Photography and Poetry. Remember that the Parish Life Conference this year will be held in Jacksonville, FL from June 16th-19th. We are hoping for a large contingent from St. George's to attend.

Oratorical Festival: We are looking for participants in the Junior and Senior Division of the Oratorical Festival held at the Parish Life Conference. Please speak to Sub/Deacon Charles Hill about details.

LOOKING AHEAD: We would like to have all the children participate on Palm Sunday [March 28th] in the procession around the Holy Church after the Divine Liturgy.

HOLY FRIDAY VIGIL-On Friday, April 2nd we are hoping to hold an all-night vigil following the Holy Lamentations. This will consist of faithful remaining in the Church all night keeping vigil at the Tomb of Our Lord. This is a wonderful way to teach our children about keeping faith in the coming Lord's Resurrection.
